It's always daunting when faced with a whole new alphabet but contrary to belief, learning the Japanese alphabets (Hiragana and Katakana) is easier than you think!
We learnt these new characters by learning various songs, mnemonics and basic writing practice - which all contributed to us becoming pros with these alphabets so much so that these two scripts are now embedded into us.
