Here are a few Animes I have watched:
Ever since I was a young child (around 7 years old) I used to watch Naruto on television when it was dubbed with English. My siblings and I thought it sounded a bit weird so we began to stream Naruto from our laptop to the TV to hear the Japanese with English subtitles. From that very moment, I thought Japanese sounded so beautiful. It is very pleasing to the ear most significantly because I like the slight pitch intonations Japanese inhabits and how you won’t sound weird if you hold out a sound. For example すごい is often said (by me) as すごおい because I’m often always surprised ^_^. After watching Naruto, I wanted to watch other kinds of anime. So I start watching Shugo chara (しゅごキャラ) and Tokyo Mew Mew (東京ミュウミュウ). I fell in love with these two animes because they incorporated the traditional anime structure; the boy and girl fall in love but there’s always some sort of confusion. After watching several more animes, I pursued learning one of the Japanese alphabets on my ownひらがな. This was so that I could learn little phrases in Japanese and incorporate them into my reality because I thought it sounded really cool. Anime also made me learn more about Japanese culture – different customs and rules. I learnt about how to enter a Japanese home properly, how to talk to people that are older than you (ますform) as well younger (plain form) and the contemporary/rural side of Japan. The main thing that caught my eye in anime was the abundance of glorious Japanese food(和食)
