Trip to Teikyo School UK
帝京ロンドン学園訪問

Back to home
We, as Greenford High School students, were assigned pen-pals at Teikyo School UK. We enjoyed sharing our school experience with them and learning about the what the life of a Japanese student comprised of. Us, being teenagers ourselves, loved hearing about Japanese popular culture - from music to clothing to pass time.
Upon visiting Teikyo School UK, we were taught about traditional kimonos (and got to try them on!) and the ancient tea ceremony. The students had the opportunity to try out their English with us. Likewise, we had the opportunity to practice our Japanese with native speakers.
We even got to try out homemade okonomiyaki (お好み焼き ) made by the students. Okonomiyaki is a customary savoury pancake cooked straight on a teppan (Japanese hot plate). It was delicious!
